Cool Mountain Fountain Classic Root Beer (#61 rated 2.75)

This company was incorporated in 1997 in Des Plaines, Illinois. However, more information about its history is needed to determine if 19 years constitute a significant period. Notably, the blog has not been updated in over a year.

Aroma and Flavor – 0.75 out of 3 mugs

The aroma is a combination of flavors, but it lacks the earthy undertones of traditional root beer. It actually had a sour aroma, which initially confused me. The flavor primarily had an unpleasant aftertaste, reminiscent of Sassy Lil’ Lass, my least preferred root beer.

I found it challenging to identify a distinct root beer flavor in this beverage. Instead, it has a strong, overpowering medicinal taste.

Head –0.5 out of 3 mugs

The head is missing. It appeared and disappeared so quickly that I was unaware of its presence.

Zip – 1.0 out of 3 mugs

The beverage received a rating of one mug due to its medicinal qualities. However, its peculiar flavor bears no resemblance to the authentic root beer flavors that I have previously rated highly..

Post Consumption Impression – 0.5 out of 3 mugs

There are very few brews that I did not anticipate finishing. Regrettably, this was one of them. Interestingly, it contains 1 gram of protein.

Would I recommend this at 2.75 out of 12 mugs?

I will not purchase this root beer again. It is an unusual beverage, and I assume it is either a favorite or an abhorrent drink.
