Naturally Crafted Root Beer (US Foods) (#49 - Rated 6.75 out of 12)

This beverage is manufactured by US Foods. The bottle indicates that it is produced in Illinois, but US Foods operates globally and likely has multiple bottling facilities. The internet provided limited information about this brand.

Ingredients: Carbonated Water, Cane Sugar, Natural Flavors (Vanilla, Anise, Sweet Birch, Cassia, and Nutmeg), Caramel Color, and Citric Acid.

Aroma and Flavor – 1.75 out of 3 mugs

Upon opening the bottle, I initially perceived its contents as maple syrup. While the initial sip was enjoyable, subsequent sips led to a diminishing sense of pleasure.

Head – 1.75 out of 3 mugs

The head is foamy and has a pleasant mouthfeel. It features small bubbles with an average dissipation rate.

Zip – 1.5 out of 3 mugs

This beverage lacks the necessary zest and energy. It is excessively sweet, almost syrupy, and the spice blend is intriguing but overshadowed by its sweetness. The carbonation level is moderate.

Post Consumption Impression – 1.75 out of 3 mugs

At 200 calories per 12 ounces and the highest sugar content I have tested to date, this product falls short of expectations. Many sodas contain excessive amounts of sugar or sodium, and a thick consistency generally appeals to the average consumer.

Would I recommend this at 6.75 out of 12 mugs?

This beverage is not something I would avoid or seek out. Try it, but only to form your own opinion.
